If you’ve ever dreamed of starting a conscious, ethical, or otherwise sustainable apparel, accessory, or fashion-related company, this episode is for you! Emily is joined by Shannon Lohr, the founder of Factory45, who has worked with over 200 entrepreneurs in the sustainable fashion space, and who co-founded {r}evolution apparel in 2010, a sustainable clothing company for female travelers and minimalists that was featured in The New York Times, Forbes.com and Yahoo! News. The two discuss the need for apparel companies and emerging fashion brands to think ethically + sustainably, the benefits of localizing your supply chain as a startup founder, the perils of fast fashion on everything from our environment to our buying behaviors, and how to get started if you feel called to bring your product idea to market.
